Great Companies and other fun stuff

by admin on June 10, 2010

Usually my middle of the week post is a short story with a lesson and I like to call th eposts Aneccotes. This week’s post is a lesson I guess but thre is a lot to talk about.

  • Learning
  • Around the Web
  • Great Companies

Learning – My son is turned 8 months old eariler this week. He is an awesome kid. He is always happy and always smiling. He get’s more action form my wife’s friends then I’ve gotten from women my whole life and I’m proud of him for being a ladies man at 8 months. The other really neat thing about my boy is that he is learning to crawl, play catch, wave hello and goodby, and give high fives. It amazes me that he is already doing these things and is conciously trying to achieve them. I’m excited to know that my son already has a love for learning and he smiles the whole time even when he falls or fails. He knows that he really didnt’ fail he just learned something on the way to success. Love it.

Around The Web – I’ve really been honnered lately by a number of organizations, blogs, and businesses and I am deeply thankful to them. I’d like to take a minute to provide links to the stories and companies for you to check out and learn more about the companies. Also if I some how left you out please feel free to tell me and I’ll be sure to include you as an update or another blog.

First and foremost I’ve joined the Board of Directors of “Let’s Cure CP.” Come by and also check out our Facebook page. We don’t have a lot there yet but become a fan and support us in finding a cure.

Second, through running I’ve become friends with a great business man and consultant Todd Schnick. Todd’s business partner is Stone Payton and they do a weekly radio show called High Velocity radio and they had me on as a guest a few weeks back. It was an absolute blast and they did a great job keeping me entertaining. After the show they even put up this page which was just wonderful of them. I encourage you to check out their whole site while your there and if your an author check out their Video dust jacket offering. It’s another example of how Todd and Stone go above and beyond to do an excellent job. Follow Todd Schnick and Stone Payton on Twitter.

NoesFrida – This company built the snot sucker and they also are highlighting dads this month as it is father’s day. I was Dad of the Day last week check it out. I also like to say a big thank you to the folks over at NoesFrida.

Julia Roberts wrote an article about The Dadvocate project. No not that Julia Roberts.

Julia Roberts who writes for She Posts and featured The DADvocate Project over there. She also started the web site Support For Special Needs. And I’m a big fan. You can follow Julia on twitter. She is much cooler than the other Julia Roberts.

Great Companies – This is the last section of this post today. I’m excited because I found a company I’m pumped to bring to the readers of this blog. The company is Saddleback leather and I am an affiliate for them. I carefully considered what companies might be valuable to the readers of this blog and I’m introducing a few affiliate’s and partners/sponsors. I spoke with Saddleback about doing a full sponsorship and they offered to send me a bag to review and keep or give away. I love fine leather products and Saddleback appears to be one of the best in the world. On top of that they have been an absolute joy to work with and have provided the highest level of service. When the order for my bag was placed they put me through the system just like a typical customer.

I’m copying the email’s I’ve received from Saddleback the first one told me about an order being placed on Tuesday:
Hello there Kevin Metzger

I see you have a paid order in my cart. We will get your leather out within 2-4 business days. As soon as your leather ships, you’ll receive an email tracking number from our shipper. If you’re in the United States, UPS ground states 1-6 business days to receive your package. If you’re an international customer, UPS Worldwide Expedited says to allow 6-10 business days for your leather to arrive in Europe. Please be aware that it might sit in customs for a few days and that those rotten customs agents will want to charge you for their troubles and to help pay for your very inexpensive medical care.

If there is anything else we can help you with, please don’t hesitate to email us at ihaveaquestion@saddlebackleather.com.

There is a crack team of customer service agents. They’re usually like lightning getting back to someone during the following times. (Texas time USA):

Our EMAIL hours (Texas time USA) are:
Monday-Friday 9:00 AM-9:00 PM
Saturday 10:00 AM-6:00PM
Sunday – Closed

Our PHONE number is 210-858-5210 and our phone hours (Texas time USA) are:
Monday-Friday 9:30 AM-8:30 PM
Saturday 10:00 AM-6:00 PM
Sunday – Closed

Thanks so much for your interest in my leather pieces.

Warm regards,
Dave Munson

Saddleback Leather Co.

This second email I received today and is a wonderful welcome to me as a owner of the Saddleback bag:
Hello there Kevin Metzger

Just wanted to let you know that I sent your leather out just a little bit ago. Your tracking number is listed below along with a link to the shipping company so you can track your leather piece every couple of hours. To care for your leather piece and read about the photo contest please see the Questions page on the website. I have all sorts of tips to keep your leather in top shape there too.

Oh, and by the way, a pretty good chunk of the amount that you sent to Saddleback went directly to loving people through one of those aid organizations on the Dave’s Links page. Basically, you just contributed to drilling a well for an entire village or partially sponsored a 5 year old street kid in Rwanda to get into a loving orphanage and go to one of the best schools in the country. This is the main reason Saddleback Leather exists. Just wanted to let you know… between friends. Thanks for helping.

The way I see it, out of the thousands and thousands of companies in the world, on the Internet or down on the corner selling leather goods, you chose mine and I really do feel honored. You are very much appreciated. Glad you’re in the family.

Thank you and have a great week.

Warm regards,
Dave Munson
Presidente
Saddleback Leather Co

I just fell like part of the family with Dave. When you check out their web site you’ll see he has a whole page dedicated to his dog. Dave just feels like good people and I know they offer top quality products. Check them out and check back for more information on Saddleback when I review the bag.
